BJCC Match-Report : 23rd-July-2011: Weekend No 15

Date :7/23/11 ( Weekend No 15)

Weather: Sunny about 75-90 degrees during the game

Start time of 7:30 with all people arriving  on time. Good job everyone way to go .

So lets see if the bowlers can bounce back from the drubbing they all took last week

It was almost a full strength side  with a terrific turnout finally and one new member who came with Kalpesh, Mr Anuj who looked a very solid player and looked like may have been playing after a while but played regular before

Parijat back with a bang, Kanan also was back   and Shail also came back after two weeks break. Welcome back to all

Match 1 14overs per side

TeamA: Swagat(Captain), Viral, Mangesh,Parijat,Mukund,Nathan,Kanan,Jaikumar

 TeamB:Marut(Captain),Kalpesh,Vivek,Naveed,Ranjan,Shail,Anuj(Debut),Mehul

Team A : 81/5 in 14 overs

Team B: 29 all out in 8.5 overs

Swagat won the toss and opened with Nathan and Kanan. Marut opened with Naveed and Vivek and they bowled two maidens upfront. I myself was day dreaming about the good old days thinking okay this is it. We are finally gonna have a game where 35 or 40 will be a winning score but not so much. Nathan and Kanan then accelerated and took 7 of the next over by Kalpesh( playing not 100% with upset stomach  but brave effort)  and from there on to make it short and simple Team A batsman never stopped. Marut had Kanan caught in the 5th over but score had reached 28 in 5 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Parijath back after a long break came in and  Mukund joined him when Nathan declared. They both put on an excellent partnership and by 10th over the score was  61.  In between all this Parijath was stumped by Shail of Anuj Bowling i think and this was so far i would say the  best stumping of the season. It was done in a flash by Shail, excellent glovework. Hardly took a second. Mangesh ,Swagat , Jaikumar all chipped in with  useful runs and they took the score to formidable 81  in 14 overs.

 So again bowlers had no answer just yet in the first innings. Mukund was the main culprit top scoring with 20 with three fours.( Hey Mukund how come whenever you play in the team i am in or even with me you play in Double wicket, you don't play like this, i have been waiting for two years)?

Marut opened with big guns Viviek and Ranjan . Swagat opened the bowling and 4 runs came of the first over.  Then Viral stuck with the first ball of next over with key wicket of Ranjan  caught by Keeper for 1. Excellent over by him giving away only one run. Parijat who kept up the tradition (of having an excellent all around day whenever someone returns from a trip to India ) bowled the next over and Vivek was caught in that over. Then Shail and Anuj making his debut joined but Shail was also caught trying to hit in the Air  and you can already see the pattern. Aamir this might be a record but basically all of Team B batsman got caught trying to hit in the air. Anuj played well for his 8 which wad the top score but all 8 batsman were caught. They could never form a partnership So a dominating win for Team A with very good outfield catching

Match2 12overs per side

Abhay Joined in and Team B took him so the teams were following

TeamA:Swagat(Captain), Viral, Mangesh,Parijat,Mukund,Nathan,Kanan,Jaikumar

TeamB: Marut(Captain),Kalpesh,Vivek,Naveed,Ranjan,Shail,Anuj(Debut),Abhay

 with Mehul common

Team A: 55/6 in 12 overs

Team B: 39 all out in 11 overs

Swagat again won the toss and decided to bat first. He and Jaikumar opened with Vivek and Anuj opening the bowling. Captain was c&b in the first over for 2 and Parijat joined Jaikumar. It was a cautious start with 6 runs coming in the first three overs. Jaikumar retired hurting his foot a little bit and Viral joined. After the 3rd over Parijat changed gears and accelerated and  gave the innings some  momentum. Viral  who came in after Jai was given a life on leg side boundary by Naveed of Ranjan bowling in the 5th over could not capitalize and was bowled by Ranjan. So the scoring rate dropped a little after Parijat got out but it was a steady 4 runs an over still. Kanan, Mangesh Mukund, and Parijat who came back at the end and hit a 6 in last over finished the innings with all chipping in and final score was 55 in 12 overs

Team B opened with Vivek and Shail and basically it was a drama filled innings.A lot of team B Players looks like were gonna leave after this innings and they obliged by getting out and leaving.Nathan who opened the bowling got Vivek in first over for a duck and Swagat got two wickets in the second over of Shail and i also think Ranjan. In between Mehul who was batting with Marut got hit on the leg and was in Pain a little bit so batsman constantly changing back and forth and i will try my best to remember but some stuff on score sheet was not that clear. But after Mehul and Marut  who finally got Team B's innings going with 1s and 2s got out , Abhay and Anuj joined in and they actually formed a very good partnership that took the score to 31 in 7 overs. So 24 were needed of 5 overs. Then Mangesh bowled an excellent over giving away only two runs and there was also a mix up between Abahy and Anuj was run out .That over was  followed by even better over from Nathan  who was back to his  bowling form today and bowled well all day today, from which only 1 run was scored and also got the key wicket of Abhay. Kalpesh and Naveed came in . Viral bowling the next over gave away 3 runs only and also bowled Kalpesh.

 Naveed was out  c&b by Parijat in the next over and all of a sudden Team B collapsed from 31 in 7 overs to 39 all out in 11 overs.

Excellent bowling and catching again by Team A with Mangesh, Nathan, Viral and Parijat bowling 4 excellent overs.

 Team B hardly dropped a catch today  and again a comfortable win by Team A. Again some stuff on the score sheet is not that clear so  may be there is a little here and there that was missed

Match3 5 overs per side

 Some wanted to play and some were forced to play but we did  have a third game

Some people left so teams were shuffled with the big draw being that Team B bought Parijat for a million dollars to strengthen batting as both Vivek and Ranjan had left

 TeamA: Swagat(Captain), Viral, Mangesh, Nathan

TeamB:Naveed(Captain).Parijat,Abhay, Anuj

Mukund was commion

Team A: 27/3 in 5 overs

Team B: 25/1 in 5 overs

Naveed won the toss but choose to chase the target . Viral and Mangesh opened with Parijat opening the bowling. Viral hit a couple 4s before he was caught by Nathan in the same over. Swagat came in and he was out for a duck . So they took 9 runs but lost two wickets in the first over. From there Mangesh, Nathan and Mukund  all chipped in to take the score to 27 in 5 overs

Team B opened with Mukund and Abhay and they took 8 runs of first over by Mangesh . Nathan again bowled an excellent over giving away only 1 run and also got the wicket of Abhay. Parijat came in and Naveed came in for Mukund who declared to bowl. 5 runs came in the next over so score was 14 in 3 overs with 14 more needed of two overs to avoid a clean sweep for Team B. 10 runs were taken of the next over bowled  by Swagat and 4 more needed of the last over. Anuj came in and Viral bowled the last over not giving anything away. Only one run came of that over which was for a second wide and team B lost by two runs. Excellent over by Viral

Final Result Team A wins the series 3-0

Overall bowlers did have  a better day than last week

For Team B the batting never really clicked today courtesy some good bowling but excellent catching in the outfield

Special Performance of the day: This goes to everyone today. Excellent turnout , 7:30 start and on time  . Again great job all . Keep it up

Mukund: Batting was great today but  Again where are you when you are in our team?

 Parijat: Back with a bang very good all around performance taking 6 wickets and making runs in  all the matches

Shail: Stumping of Parijat i think in game  1 or 2  but bails were off  really in no time

Nathan: did not give anything away in bowling today and was excellent all day

Naveen can you move back to Parsippany ? and start coming

Aamir missed second week in a row

Anil we miss you but its fine, catch up to your work asap so we can see you regularly
